Born in Long Beach California in 1956, John Sadler is a very experienced horseman. He saddled his first winner in 1979 at Golden Gate Fields before winning the first match race in the history of Santa Anita in 1991. He's become a prominent figure not only in California, but in racing around the country. Sadler rode show horses before making the transition to the racetrack, and tried out for the United States Olympic Equestrian team.

Sadler walked hots for trainer Tom Pratt during high school before attending the University of Oregon. He then worked as a veterinary assistant for Dr. Jack Robbins before serving as an assistant trainer for David Hoffmans and Eddie Gregson.

John has won training titles at Hollywood Park, Santa Anita, Del Mar, and Oak Tree at Santa. He's won over 1,800 races with runners earning over $76 million. John takes great pride in his stable's consistency and ability to win races in virtually ever division.
