Mike Hushion
Mike Hushion saddled his first winner at Aqueduct in 1975. He did not become interested in racing until college at the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in economics. He left Oklahoma after three years to begin working at the racetrack. His first major experience came as a groom and assistant for five-years to Hall of Fame trainer Allen Jerkens. Mike has won two training titles in New York and saddled over 1,200 winners in his career. He's also saddled two Breeders' Cup runners and over a dozen graded stakes winners.
Mike is also the Vice President of the Backstretch Employee Services Team, a charity committed to providing services to the backstretch workers At Aqueduct, Belmont, and Saratoga. Mike has three children and lives with his wife Sharon in Massapequa Park, New York.
