Terry on Flatter colt: "This colt looks like a 2-year-old, that's how big he is. Some horses are too big for their own good, but with this horse all the parts just seem to fit together. He looks very light on his feet considering his size. Flatter has been an underrated sire in years past, but is really making a name for himself this year with runners like Flat Out and Tar Heel Mom. Our heart scan guy said he has one of the strongest hearts he's seen in a yearling. Based on this information, his pedigree, and body type, I think the longer the better with him once he hits the track."
Jeff Lifson on Flatter colt, "I was with Terry and Mike Shannon when they first saw this dude at the Keeneland sale. He's one of those horses that makes you stop in your tracks when he walks out of the stall. A strong hip and shoulder is important. This colt's got that. I'm a big fan of Flatter as well."
- This tremendous physical specimen made a fantastic first impression when we saw him at the Keeneland sale this year. He’s an above-average-sized colt with so much presence, and unbelievable balance for his size.
- WPT campaigns the graded stakes placed runner Runflatout, also a son of Flatter.
- Flatter is a stakes-winning son of A.P. Indy who is making quite a name for himself at stud. He is the sire of stakes winners Apart, Tar Heel Mom, and Flat Out, amongst others. Flat Out is headed to the Breeders' Cup after a decisive victory in the Jockey Club Gold Cup.
- This pedigree is stronger than it looks at first glance. This handsome dark bay is bred on the same cross as Grade 1 winners Dialed In, Ice Box, It’s Tricky, Mi Sueno, and Sky Mesa.
- His second dam produced four winners included a graded stakes winner. Under the third dam, there are multiple graded stakes winners including Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Storm Song.
